Domestic Comp Rules

DOMESTIC COMPETITION RULES

Due to Covid Safety requirements – we can only allow 1 parent/adult per player to be on the side-line of that game. Parents should socially distance when on the sideline.

  1. 8 Players take the field at any 1 time – a team can play with as few as 5 players before they must forfeit the match.
  2. Teams have up to 5 minutes from the start time to allow minimum of 5 players to take the field.
  3. All Players must wear official OZTAG shorts or tights.
  4. All Players must have a number displayed on their playing shirt or singlet.
  5. Singlets with large arm holes (muscle shirts) are not permitted due to injury risk.
  6. Players are not permitted to wear Representative uniforms.
  7. Players are to have playing shirts tucked in.
  8. Players are not to wear jewellery.
  9. Players are not to wear footwear with screw in metal or plastic studs.
  10. All players must be signed on prior to taking to the field. 1 parent or player should take on this role to allow for social distancing at sign on areas. IT IS IMPERITIVE THAT THE SIGN ON SHEET ACCURATELY RECORDS PLAYERS ATTENDANCE EACH WEEK. THIS IS OUR OFFICIAL RECORD THAT WOULD BE SUBMITTED TO CONTACT TRACERS IN THE EVENT OF ANY COVID POSITIVE CASE.
  11. The sign on process involves all players having their name listed in the first column. A tick in the column for each date of play is required beside those playing on that date.
  12. A minimum of 5 games must have been played for a player to be eligible to play in Semi or Finals. 7 games are required to qualify to play for that Association in State Cup Tournaments.
  13. Teams are not allowed to borrow players from the same or an older age division. They are permitted to borrow registered players from a younger age division to make up their numbers – this is a temporary measure and is not to be done on a permanent basis.
  14. Any Injury sustained throughout the game should be reported immediately to and recorded by the Competition Convenor on the day – this will ensure the player is entitled to claim Insurance if required.
  15. (Amended for Covid Safety) Jnr Oztag will supply the football & tags for each game, these remain at the field for the afternoon. These are taken to fields by the Referee. Referees also have hand sanitizer that players are to use prior before their game & again at the Half time break. Players not wishing to use Oztag hand sanitizer should provide their own.
  16. Referees and Officials are to be treated with respect. Verbal or Physical abuse will not be tolerated and may result in a player, spectator, parent being banned from the venue. Please refer to CODES OF CONDUCT.
  17. The Competition Officials have the right to determine, when a player has been sent from the field, what penalty he or she will incur.
  18. Teams cannot recruit players with current Representative status to strengthen domestic teams.
  19. Players’ fees should be paid before they play their first game. Unfinancial players may result in teams not being awarded match points.
